Campus Ministry
Saint Dominic High School provides ongoing opportunities for students to deepen their relationship with Jesus, internalize their understanding of God, and support the process of making faith their own. The programs and events we include into our life here at St. Doms are:
1. Weekly Mass: The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian Faith according to St. John Paul II and the Mass holds pride of place in our school wide activities.
2. Daily Prayer: Each class begins in prayer and the Angelus is recited at noon daily.
3. Confessions every semester: Each semester, our students are given the opportunity to recognize the ways in which they need to grow in love of God, one another, and themselves!
4. Stewardship: By becoming a bayhawk, our students are expected to give back to the school and local community. Our stewardship program encompasses all the service opportunities that students have here at St. Dom's. Each student is expected to perform two stewardship activities per quarter and this is factored into their theology grade. Such opportunities include and are by no means limited to:
- Ministering as the Mass through altar service, lecturing, or Eucharistic Ministry.
- Assisting at the Aftercare program at our elementary school.
- Doing activities with the elderly at Oyster Bay Manor, an assisted living home.
- Assisting in clean up operations at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center
- Donating to a seasonal food, clothing or toy drive!
