Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Students may be commissioned as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion in the spring of their junior year in order to serve the St. Dominic school community in the distribution of Holy Communion at school Masses during their senior year.  
 
Juniors are invited to consider whether they wish to serve the St. Dominic school community in this capacity.  This is a responsibility which should not be taken lightly or without some prayer and thought.

 

A Eucharistic Minister must be:

 

A baptized and confirmed Catholic.

A practicing Catholic who is faithful to the Sunday Mass.

Someone who values his/her faith and is not afraid to publicly acknowledge it.

Someone who is reverent, showing proper respect for things of the faith and when in church. 

Someone who seeks to serve as an example to others of what it is to be a follower of Jesus.

Someone who understands and appreciates the importance of bringing Christ to others in the Eucharist.

 

Juniors who wish to serve in this capacity should speak to Fr. Lettieri in the spring of their Junior year:

 

All accepted candidates will participate in a retreat and orientation sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry and must participate in ongoing faith formation.
