Welcome back Bayhawks! My name is Sara Spagna and I am excited for another great year! I look forward to offering support and guidance to the students, staff, families and community. Aside from being the Guidance Counselor for students with the last names A-L, I am also the freshman class advisor and the co-moderator of the Bayhawk Leaders.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Sacred Heart University (2006) where I was also a member of the Division I Equestrian team and had the opportunity to study abroad in Holland. I then went on to pursue my Master of Science degree in School Counseling at Long Island University (2009). I began my career as a Guidance Counselor at Lindenhurst High School in 2009 where I served as a leave replacement counselor for five years. Assuming the role of a leave replacement counselor on numerous occasions offered me the opportunities to become adaptable to various situations and perform in many different capacities. I hope to get involved here at St. Dom’s and look forward to building positive, supportive relationships with my students.

Although I did not grow up in this community, I am very familiar with it as I have been a horseback riding instructor at Nassau Equestrian Center for the past eight years which is actually right down the road from St. Dom’s. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, horseback riding, and traveling. I look forward to meeting all of my students and families! Feel free to stop by my office and say Hi!
