Good afternoon all! All across America a solar eclipse will be visible on April 8, 2024. Though Long Island is not in the path of totality, Oyster Bay will experience maximum coverage at 3:26pm, where 90% of the sun will be covered by the moon.
St. Dominic High School is throwing a Solar Eclipse Party to celebrate this rare event! Come join us on the Greenhouse Lawn of the Science Building at 2:45pm on Monday April 8, 2024 (the first day back in school after Easter Break). We will have safe solar eclipse viewing glasses, Sunny D, and moon pies for all who register by Tuesday, March 26 at 3pm. Science Honor Society will also be there to show students how to view the solar eclipse safely using homemade pinhole cameras.
Cost to attend the party is $4 and will be billed next week upon receipt of your RSVP. Please fill out the form below to RSVP by Tuesday March 26 at 3pm to reserve your pair of glasses and party snack! All students must fill out this form, whether they are attending or not.
