All students should work on their review sheets over the weekend. Only hand-written review sheets will be permitted for use on Monday's exam. All review sheets will be checked prior to the test. Additional copies of the review sheet can be found on Google Classroom.

The students will have a short quiz on the Age of Exploration and the Mesoamerican Civilizations on Friday, May 25

Students should complete the homework assignment on the Aztec/Inca that is posted on google classroom. It must be turned in electronically prior to class tomorrow.

Students must complete their classwork assignment and submit it ON GOOGLE CLASSROOM no later than 8AM tomorrow morning. No late submissions will be accepted.

Students must complete the Age of Exploration/Columbian Exchange Worksheet that was given to them in class today.

Extra Help will be moved to Wednesday, May 16th for this week only. I apologize for any inconvenience and ask that any student who has questions or concerns speak with me in class. I will make every effort to accommodate the students as best as I can.

Students must complete the "Age of Exploration" packet they received in class by Tuesday, May 15th. The packet covers the motivations for exploration in the 15th century.

Africa/Renaissance/Reformation

Students were assigned homework today that is due on Thursday. The details can be found on Google Classroom.

Students will take a brief quiz tomorrow, May 4th.

 

It will review Africa, the beginning of the Renaissance and the Plague.

Students must read the packet on the Renaissance and answer the questions.

Students must read and annotate the article "Trading Salt for Gold" on google classroom. We will be having a class discussion on this tomorrow and all students must participate in the discussion to get credit for their homework.

Test on Wednesday April 25 on Crusades, Middle Ages and Rise of Western Europe

100 Years War and Joan of Arc Homework assignment on Google Classroom due tomorrow, April 24

The students will be working on research papers at home over the next six weeks. The assignment will be given out and gone over in class on Thursday. The students will receive detailed information at that time. The due dates of each part are posted below.

Due Dates:

• Monday, March 19: Submit your two picks for essay questions. Number them in the order of your preference. They must be submitted on the topic sheet.
• Monday, March 26: Thesis Statement due. 1-2 sentences, typed.
• Monday, April 23: Research Paper due!! This is NOT NEGOTIABLE. You will be penalized 10 points for every day that it is late (this includes Saturday and Sunday).

Reminder: The Research Papers are due on Monday, April 23rd

 

Students are responsible for making sure that their papers are uploaded to Turn-It-In. If any student needs the information to join the class, the codes can be found on Google Classroom.

 

I will be holding extra help on Wednesday and Friday BY APPOINTMENT ONLY to answer specific questions for the research paper. Thursday's extra help session will be held as scheduled.

Section 3: Define key terms and answer questions 3,4,5,7,8

Students must complete the key terms and questions 3-5, 7, 8 at the end of section 1 in the textbook chapter.

 

Any student who was absent should see me to go over enrolling in turn-it-in for our class so that they can upload their research paper without any problems.

Students should complete the documents on today's note sheet if they were not completed in class.

 

All students should report to the library on Tuesday, March 27 for class. We will be working on research for the upcoming research paper assignment.

Thesis statements for the research paper must be submitted. Hard copies only, late submissions will not be accepted and will have a negative impact on the over all research paper grade.

All classes will be having a Quest on Friday. It will be counted as a test grade, but will be modified to accommodate our shortened class periods due to Spirit Day.

We are scheduled to have a test tomorrow 3/7.  In the event of a snow day, the students will be taking the test on Friday, 3/9.  They are receiving a review sheet in class today, but an additional copy can be found on google classroom.

Students should complete the body paragraph outline from the lesson we did in class today.  It will be collected tomorrow and graded as a writing assignment.

Greece Test Monday, December 11th

Students were given a review worksheet in class today.  They should use it to study for Monday's exam.

Athens/Sparta Debates were moved to tomorrow 12/6 for all 9R classes

Students will participate in a debate in class on Tuesday 12/5.  They have the materials and worksheet that will be used for the debate.

 

**Period 1 will have their debate on Wednesday, 12/6!

Students have been working in class throughout the week on a DBQ essay.  Thursday is the last day they will have time to work in class.  A final, paper-copy of the essay is due in class on Friday.

Students must complete the introduction paragraph they worked on in class.

Students will complete DBQ documents and outline for class tomorrow.  The assignment was started in class today.

River Valley Test, Wednesday November 8th

India & China Quiz on Thursday, November 2nd.

The students will complete an IN-CLASS writing assignment tomorrow, 10/31.  We spoke about the assignment today, however, the rubric and additional information has been posted on Google Classroom.  Students may begin preparation at home, however, all writing must be done in class.

Students must complete the Dynastic Cycle/Mandate of Heaven worksheet and submit it on Google Classroom

A study guide has been posted on Google Classroom for Friday's Test.  The students do not need to hand in the completed study guide, it is for their use only.

Review Worksheet #2

Complete Belief System Chart that was given with today's notes.

Students will read Chapter 2 section 2 in their textbooks.  While reading they will define the key terms and answer questions 3-8 which can be found at the end of the section.  They must complete this on paper to be handed in on Thursday.

 

The students will be having a quiz on Chapter 1 this Friday, October 6th.  The quiz will cover the following topics: paleolithic era, neolithic era, and early civilizations.  We will work on a short review sheet on Wednesday in class.

The students will complete their homework sheet on the Code of Hammurabi

Tomorrow is the last day to return your signed map quiz to me.  Any student who does not return the signed answer key in class tomorrow will serve a detention!  In addition, tomorrow is the last day to make up a map quiz if you have not already. 

 

We will complete our "Help Wanted!" poster project in class tomorrow so students should bring in any materials they wish to use for their project.  Paper and crayons/markers will be provided.

Students must get their map quizzes signed by a parent or guardian.  These must be returned tomorrow!

Students are to finish the questions and paragraph that we started in class on "The Worst Mistake in the History of the Human Race."  It will be checked on Monday, 9/25.

 

Study for Map Quiz!

There will be a MAP QUIZ based on the summer assignments on Friday, September 22nd.  We will also go over the summer assignment in class tomorrow, (9/13) so that any questions or confusions can be addressed.  Please note that the scores on the map quiz will be combined with the summer assignments to make one test grade. 

The "Lucy and the Leakey's" article was not collected in class today, however, it will be collected on Monday.  The assignment remains the same as listed below.

 

Read and annotate/takes note on the article "Lucy and the Leakey's"  The two discussion questions are due in Friday on class and should be completed on paper to be handed in.

 

The students also received their graded map assignments in class today.  We went over each map in order to ensure all students have updated maps to study for next week's quiz.

Google classroom questions on geographic features is posted.  Please respond in a well organized paragraph.

History Vocabulary Worksheet is due on Tuesday.  Students must submit a hard copy, however, the sheet has also been posted on Google Classroom in case students need an additional copy.

Students will answer the question posted on Google Classroom before class on Monday.
