SAT Reasoning Test 

∙ Measures generalized information and reasoning abilities learned over the lifetime. ∙ It is comprised of a critical reading section and a mathematics section.

ACT Assessment 

∙ Designed to measure the higher-order thinking skills taught across the high school curriculum, and that are necessary for completing college-level coursework. 

∙ The ACT is divided into four multiple choice sections: reading, writing, math and science. There is also  an optional writing component.
