Art Honor Society

In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program for high school students in grades 10 through 12.  The purpose of the society is to recognize and inspire students who have shown outstanding ability in art. The National Art Honor Society strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in the arts and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

To be considered for membership in the St. Dominic Art Honor Society, a student must:

  • have completed one year of an art course beyond Studio Art with a final average of 93 or higher;
  • be currently enrolled in an art course;
  • continue taking art courses through grade 12;
  • be a person of good character, and;
  • be willing to perform service work for the Art Department, a minimum of 2 hours per semester, totaling a minimum of  6 hours for the school year ( this service is in addition to the service work require by the school) and should be focused on art enrichment for the community and world.
  • We participate in The Memory Project and hold an annual Ceramics Nights to educate and serve our community and our world.
