This application is due NO LATER THAN Friday, October 2nd at 3 PM. Teacher recommendations are NOT required. Inductees will be notified by school e-mail by Monday, October 5th and must attend the Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Thursday, October 22nd at 7 PM in the Chapel.
 
The cost of membership is $10.00 per year, which will be charged to your FACTS tuition account.
 
All students who are not current members must complete the application.
 
NOTE: Current members DO NOT need to reapply. However, please read the updated membership requirements below. If you choose not to participate this year due to the new requirements, please let me know.

Membership Criteria: Candidates who are juniors or seniors, are currently completing or have completed their third year of Spanish, have achieved an average of 88% or above in their Spanish studies and an overall average of 85%, have demonstrated qualities of good character, and have expressed an interest in the study of the Spanish language and culture are eligible for membership.

Mandatory meetings of the society are typically held once a month to discuss the business of the society. Members must also complete a total of 7 service hours from November - April. Failure to complete these hours on time will result in DISMISSAL.
 
At least 3 hours must be completed by January 31st. A total of 7 hours must be completed by April 30th. A service hour must represent a meaningful contribution to the society and school community. Showing up for tutoring hours when there is no one to tutor will no longer be accepted. It is highly recommended to clear what you would like to do with the teacher ahead of time. If you are required to complete an additional service hour due to an excused absence, it must be completed by the next upcoming deadline.
 
Members participate in the preparations of World Language Week, cultural experiences related to the study of the Spanish language as well as participating in contests and projects that involve the Spanish language.
 
Pre-requisites for Officers: In order to qualify as officers of the Spanish National Honor Society (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary), candidates must be active members of the society and are required to take Level 4 College of the language.
 
Prospective officers must apply and present during a meeting how they would contribute to the society. The society will then vote by Google Form.
