We will resume shadows starting September 16, 2024.
We can't wait to welcome you to campus!
Private tours of our campus will continue throughout the summer. Starting July 16, 2024, tours will be offered by appointment every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
To schedule your tour, please email Mr. O'Brien at [email protected] or call 516-922-4888 ext. 5330.
Shadow Day
We welcome both 7th and 8th graders to be a Bayhawk for the Day to see what it is like to be a student at St. Dominic High School!  Shadow Day is an opportunity for students to spend the day at St. Dominic High School and experience what it is like to be a member of the Bayhawk Family. Students are paired with a St. Dominic student (usually, a freshman, sophomore, or someone who you may already know) for the day to attend classes, go to lunch and get a true feel for life at St. Dominic.
How do I schedule a Shadow Day?
You may click HERE to fill out our quick Online Form which will automatically be sent to the Dean of Admissions. You can also call the Director of Admissions, Mr. Matthew O'Brien, at 516-922-4888 x5330 or e-mail him at [email protected] to schedule a shadow day.  Students are responsible for letting their elementary or middle school know that they will be spending the day at St. Dominic.
What time should I arrive, and when will I be dismissed?
You should enter the main entrance of Canivan Hall at 7:50 A.M. and go directly to the Admissions Office. Please park in the assigned parking spots 65, 66, 67, 68 in the Monsignor Collins Sports Complex parking lot.  Parents will return to the Admissions Office by 2:00 P.M. to pick up their child and hear all about the experience.
What is the dress code for Shadow Days?
Students are asked to dress nicely: a collared shirt or polo shirt, dress pants and flat shoes. Do not wear jeans, t-shirts, pajama pants, athletic wear or sandals. While the seventh or eighth grade students are not required to wear their current uniform or the St. Dominic High School uniform, they are asked to dress appropriately.

Tours are a great way to see the campus and get a feel for who we are.  Tours can be done privately or in a group setting.  To accommodate the individual schedules of families, we have flexible times and dates.  Tours can be conducted during the school day or in the afternoon after dismissal.
